Provocações sobre Pesquisa em Adminstração

Quais as piores coisas para se encontrar numa pesquisa científica? E os maiores defeitos que artigos acadêmicos em Administração costumam apresentar? Foi com base nessas questões que Eric Abrahamson, pesquisador e professor da Columbia Business School, convidou a comunidade acadêmica à discutir a pesquisa em Administração. Em artigo publicado na última edição do Journal of Management Inquiry, Abrahamson utiliza de bom humor e algum sarcasmo para apresentar em 22 provocações (mini-rants) o que mais odeia encontrar em publicações na área. Sem perder o foco acadêmico, aproveitou a oportunidade para usar sua metralhadora de críticas (shotgun ranting), como ele mesmo afirma, com o propósito de exercitar a reflexão e o debate sobre o modo como se tem praticado a pesquisa no campo. Da geração de teoria à organização do campo da Administração, o autor apresenta inúmeros questionamentos quanto às práticas de pesquisa, incluindo inúmeros aspectos metodológicos como a construção e uso de hipóteses, métodos, análise de dados, ou mesmo o modo de redigir um trabalho acadêmico. Independentemente, do quanto se pode concordar com Abrahamson, ele oferece uma excelente oportunidade para que se questione o significado de produzir conhecimento.

Theory
